Description

A smooth blackberry puree made with fresh blackberries, lemon juice, water, and optional sugar. Serve it with breakfast dishes, desserts, or drinks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries, washed

  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Add blackberries, lemon juice, and water to a blender or food processor.

  2. Blend on high speed until the blackberries break down into a smooth consistency.

  3. Place a fine-mesh strainer over a mixing bowl and pour the blended mixture through.

  4. Use a spatula to press the puree through the strainer, removing seeds.

  5. Taste the puree and stir in the optional sugar if you prefer a sweeter puree.

  6. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate. For longer storage, freeze the puree in portions.

Notes

The sugar is optional. Taste the strained puree before adding it, and adjust the sweetness to your preference.
